Lindsey Davis will be signing copies of her latest novel Rebels and Traitors, an epic tale of the English Civil War, at Nantwich Bookshop on Saturday 23rd January from 10:30 to 11:30.
Rebels and Traitors is set against the terrible struggle of the English Civil War, co-inciding the events of Holly Holy Day which is celebrated in Nantwich on 23rd January.
Lindsey Davis is already known for her prize-winning novels set in ancient Rome, The Course of Honour and the Falco detective series. In Rebels and Traitors she returns to her first love, the seventeenth century. This book is partly set in Birmingham, where she grew up; in Oxford, where she went to university and in London, where she lives.
In a recent review in the Saturday Telegraph, Rebels and Traitors was accorded four stars; "an imaginative, informative and thoroughly enjoyable novel with strong, unforgettable characters, intricate plotting, and, at its heart, the triumph of love over hopelessness."
